I graduated from Bristol in July 1995 and moved to Northumberland to join what was then The Hampden and Simonside Veterinary Group. Twenty plus years later and I am still living and working in Alnwick. The son of a vet, my philosophy lies firmly in the old school thought that vetting is vocational and not just a job. Latterly my efforts have been concentrated on small animals, though I have been involved with plenty of farm work over the years and I’m really looking forward to doing more large animal vetting going forwards. I have also had a hand in the development of an interactive app that helps monitor the health of pets. In 2013, I was very flattered to be invited to join the Veterinary Defence Society panel of expert witnesses, recognition of my experience as a first opinion practitioner. This work has involved both civil and regulatory cases and requires me to provide an opinion on professional standards, something that is very important to me.
Stu about Dom
“Dom and I share a vision for a new veterinary practice in Alnwick. An `ideas` man that pursues his goal. Dom is dedicated to everything he does; work, family, sport and socialising!”
Sue about Dom
“Friendly and kind, with a carefully hidden perfectionist streak (which is what I would want in a vet looking after my own animals)!”
